Amaikha Tifinagh High-Quality free Tifinagh Typeface

Amaikha Tifinagh Regular is the first release of the Amaikha family, and it is available as a free Tifinagh font download. It was designed to provide a high-quality choice for editorial and web projects targeted at Tamazight readers—a context where the scarcity of professional Tifinagh typography is remarkable. Amaikha is part of the broader Amaikha Multiscript project, which began during my MA in Typeface Design at the University of Reading. This project is designed to eventually span Latin, Greek, Cyrillic, Arabic, and Tifinagh writing systems.

The Tifinagh script was the core subject of my dissertation. Extensive research into the script and Amazigh culture served as an essential foundation to ensure the accuracy and historical consistency of these letterforms. You can download this Tifinagh font for free (though a donation is most welcome if you wish to support the project!). The extension of the Amaikha Tifinagh family is currently planned to include six additional weights, from Black to Extra Light, providing a comprehensive range of variants to meet diverse typographic needs.
